Setup

  1. Stand tall with light dumbbells or a low cable.
  2. Keep elbows softly bent and shoulders relaxed.

Execution

  1. Raise arms out and slightly forward to about shoulder height.
  2. Lower slowly without resting between repetitions.

Feel and control

  • Lead with elbows
  • Reach wide
  • Stay light

Avoid

  • Swinging
  • Shrugging early
  • Raising far above shoulder height
BREATHING

Exhale while raising; inhale while lowering.

TEMPO

2 seconds up, 3 seconds down

SAFETY

Use a very light load and stop below any painful range.
